Meet The Omaze Somerset House Winner

We’re delighted to announce Michael Maher, from Luton Luton, is the Somerset House Draw Grand Prize Winner. He now owns a Magical House worth over £3,000,000 and £100,000 cash.

When Omaze first called Michael to inform him she’d won a prize, his daughter dismissed the chances of winning something big as if he’d only been awarded an oven.

Then, when we showed them at Michael’s door to inform him that the prize was the £3,000,000 house he’d been looking for in Somerset, the overjoyed Michael declared: “Overjoyed “Obviously I was awestruck however my daughter was a bit sceptical and advised me not to get too excited because I’m likely to have won an oven. It came out to be a £3 million-pound house…that is also a house that comes with an oven!”

Following a visit to the home within a few days of learning the information, Michael explained, “We’re not sure what we’re going to do long term yet – we’ll definitely spend some time here and enjoy it as a family – but whatever we decide, it’s going to change all our lives for the better. “

Your entries to the Somerset House Draw also helped raise our largest donation ever, a staggering £3,500,000 for the RSPCA and 50 RSPCA inspectors on the front line throughout the year.

Somerset House Draw donation

“We are incredibly happy that our Omaze House draw raised a staggering £35,000,000 for the RSPCA within six weeks. As we approach the 200th anniversary of our foundation, the money will assist our frontline team members save animals at a time when the organization has seen the number of reports of neglect and abandonment increase to a three-year high.

The rising cost of living is taking its toll on the animals, and we’re thankful to have joined forces with Omaze for the second time. We’d be grateful to everyone who participated in the contest and helped raise funds for our crucial animal welfare efforts.”
